About Practitioner
I have been a certified member of CATT Associate level and the AOGPE Associate level for many years. I have been trained at the Certified level AOGPE with a practicum over a period of 5 years. I have directed the
V.U.M. After School Tutoring Program ( using Multisensory Therapeutic Principles) for more than 10 years and now I direct a V.U.M. sponsored Multisensory Therapeutic Tutoring program at Faith Baptist Church. Regarding O.G. Math: I have certificates from Marilyn Wardrop for Beginning and Intermediate levels.
Over the past 15 years I have tutored students from grades 2-6 using O.G. Math. My experience as a Public School teacher, Teaching all ages in B.C., Japan, and Grade 6 in PACA Brazil, My M.A. in Sociology, and a Diploma in Special Education from UBC have all contributed to my quest to help the most vulnerable in our society. However, as far as educating children, and myself for that matter, The Orton Gillingham approach to learning proved itself to be most effective, rewarding and appropriate.
Currently, I am certified as a Supervisor with O.G. Canada
