About Practitioner
I am an experienced Special Education Assistant and Orton-Gillingham Tutor with over 20 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs. Since 2005, I have worked within the elementary school system, providing individualized academic, behavioural, and social-emotional support to students across a variety of grade levels and learning profiles.
In 2013, I established a private tutoring practice specializing in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a structured, explicit, and multisensory method of literacy instruction. Through both my school-based and private practice experience, I have developed extensive expertise in supporting students with dyslexia, learning disabilities, reading difficulties, and other language-based learning challenges.
My approach focuses on building strong foundational literacy skills while fostering confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning. I work closely with students, families, and educators to create supportive learning environments that meet individual needs and promote long-term success.
I am passionate about helping students discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential through patient, personalized, and evidence-based instruction.
