OG Canada invites you to join us for our annual Spring Conference with presentations by Dr. Liz Angoff and Marie Foley on April 13, 2024.
We will have two sessions:
First session with Dr. Liz Angoff: 9 - 10 am, plus 15 min of questions
15 minute break 10:15 - 10: 30 am
Second session with Marie Foley: 10:30 - 12 pm, plus 30 min of questions
Dr. Liz is a Licensed Educational Psychologist with a Diplomate in School Neuropsychology. She received her doctorate from UC Berkeley, where she focused on collaborative practices with families.
Dr. Liz has been working with students, families, and teachers for over 20 years in public schools, community settings, and private practice. She began her career as a classroom teacher, transitioned to family advocacy, and then went on to earn her degree as a school psychologist with a specialization in neuropsychology.
Dr. Liz’s mission is to empower children and families by helping them understand their amazing, unique brains.
Marie Foley is a literacy instructor residing in Toronto, Canada. Marie specializes in using visual narrative and the scientific methodology of Structured Word Inquiry to help students and educators make sense of the writing system.
Like many of the students she teaches, Marie is dyslexic, giving her an insider’s perspective on the challenges of understanding language and what approaches can help effectively overcome them.
Marie will review how to explain key orthography concepts by engaging the visual and reasoning strengths of dyslexic students. Turning a visual spotlight on the logic of the writing system opens up new pathways to learning to read and spell for struggling students.
Note: Recorded version of the webinar will be available for two weeks after the event. If you would like to receive the recording, please sign up for the event. The link to the recordings will be circulated AFTER the event.
Participation in this event counts for 11 credits in OG CANADA pro-d policy.
